For the
Special Town Meeting
To: Charles Porter, a resident of the Town of Unity in Waldo County of the State of Maine
GREETINGS:
In the name of the State of Maine, you are hereby required to notify and warn the Inhabitants of the Town of Unity, in said Waldo County, qualified by law to vote in town affairs, to meet at the Unity Community Center on the 30th day of June, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. to act on the following articles to wit:
ARTICLE 1: To elect a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
ARTICLE 2: To see if the Town will vote to approve the Maine Moderator’s Manual 6th Edition as the rules of procedure for the meeting.
ARTICLE 3: To see if the Town will vote to increase the property tax levy limit of $85,686 established for the Town of Unity by State law in the event that the municipal budget approved under the following articles will result in a tax commitment that is greater than that property tax levy limit. (written ballot)
ARTICLE 4: To see if the Town will vote to increase the trash sticker fee from $1.00 to $2.00 each and the dumpster tipping fee from $3.00 to $4.00 per cubic yard for each dumping.
ARTICLE 5: To see if the Town will vote to raise or appropriate $25,000.00 for Winter Roads.
ARTICLE 6: To see if the Town will vote to raise or appropriate $35,000.00 for Landfill Maintenance.
