Volunteer Regional Food Pantry

The Volunteer Regional Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization that serves 11 towns in the North West portion of Waldo County. The pantry meets at the old fire station at 180 Depot Street on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Food is passed out between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m.

If a person is unable to attend, they are encouraged to send a personal representative. Emergency boxes are also available from the Unity, Troy and Burnham Town Offices. Volunteers are welcomed to serve by contacting Bob Van Deventer at 948-3914 to check on the pantries current needs and special projects.

The public is invited to attend all board meetings held on the first Saturday of each month at 7:30 am at their home on Depot St.

Snow Storm Information: If a snow storm should occur just before or during, the third Saturday of the month, when a food pantry is scheduled, please check WABI TV Channel 5 of cancellation information or you can call 948-6232 and check the answering machine.

The VRFP is 100% volunteer driven with about 98% of our financial support used to purchase food at .13 cents a pound. All financial contributions are tax deductible and can be mailed to VRFP Po Box 175 Unity, Maine 04988.
