In the Gallery
For the month of June, Centre Gallery will be showing an exhibit of abstract art by Tyler Darvintyne who resides on Mt. Desert Island. Darvintyne is a unique abstract painter, offering a new approach to the realm of blending colors. He uses gravity as his paintbrush, swirling the canvas to draw the paint in the desired direction. Using this technique combined with thrown and dripped acrylic and some spray paint, he offers abstract art lovers a completely new and yet quintessentially familiar view into a world of natural beauty, blended rainbows, and color filled firework shows.
As well as painting, Tyler enjoys being a full time father to his 3 year old daughter Acadia. He is a musician, writer, and all around lover of the creative arts. For an extensive look into his work art lovers can see more at his website.
The gallery is open when there are performances scheduled in the building or by appointment by calling 568-3147 or 948-7469.
